International Symposium on Site Characterization
for CO2 Geological Storage (CO2SC 2006)
Sponsored by: U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Air and Radiation and Office of Water
Co-sponsored by: International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), American
Institute of Hydrology (AIH), Ground Water Protection Council (GWPC), International
Association of Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR)
This symposium addresses the particular issue of site characterization and site selection related to the geologic storage of CO2. Presentations and discussions are invited to cover the various aspects associated with characterization and selection of potential CO2 storage sites, with special emphasis on advances in process understanding, development of measurement methods, and identification of key site parameters. The symposium, held at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), March 20-22, 2006, will consist of oral and poster presentations, a banquet dinner, and a field trip. There will also be a panel discussion on special issues to conclude the symposium. Extended abstracts of all contributions will be published in conference proceedings.
