Application of synchrotron radiation-based spectroscopy and scattering methods to problems in geochemistry, environmental chemistry and solid state chemistry; spectroscopy of mineral surfaces and interfaces; computer simulation of mineral structures and electronic spectra; luminescence spectroscopy; sum-frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy of water on mineral surfaces; nanomineralogy.
