Biographical Summary

Bhavna Arora is a postdoctoral fellow in the Geochemistry Department. Her primary research involves reactive transport modeling to provide a comprehensive and predictive understanding of hydrogeochemical processes in various types of subsurface environments and at different space-time scales. She is currently involved in (1) developing a reactive transport model for quantifying carbon fate and transport at the Rifle site as part of the Sustainable Systems Scientific Focus Area, (2) identifying hot spots and hot moments of biogeochemical processes in Arctic soil as part of the Next Generation Ecosystem Experiment-Arctic, and (3) implementing a new surface complexation model for the Savannah River site as part of the Advanced Simulation Capability for Environmental Management. Her previous work focused on understanding the influence of heterogeneities and hydrological perturbations on coupled hydrological and geochemical processes in experimental soil columns and a municipal landfill site in Norman, OK.
