CO2SC 2006

Transportation and Logistics

Symposium Venue

The meeting will be held in the Building 50 Auditorium at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), Berkeley, California. Berkeley is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The LBNL sits in the Berkeley hills overlooking the UC Berkeley Campus and the City of Berkeley. There are security checks at the lab entrance. Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation and a picture I.D. (passport for international visitors). For those that have not registered yet and plan to do so on site, mention the CO2SC symposium to the guards and ask them to call Joy Kono from conference services (cell: 510.508.6073).

Getting to LBNL

Durant or Doubletree Hotel:

If you miss the special shuttle from the Doubletree hotel, you can take the regular hotel shuttle that takes you to the Downtown Berkeley Bart station. From there, you will use the regular LBNL shuttle service (see above). The “Berkeley Bart” shuttle stop is at the corner of Center/Shattuck (in front of Wells Fargo Bank). Again, make sure that the “Hearst” sign is displayed in the window, not the “Bancroft” sign.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART):

For those arriving by BART, you should exit at the Downtown Berkeley Bart station. From there, use the regular LBNL shuttle service (see above).

Driving Directions:

In case you are planning to use a car for access, please be advised that we have limited parking available at the Lab. We encourage you to take public transportation whenever possible. If you need to drive, click HERE for directions.

It is best to use the Blackberry Canyon Entrance (Main Gate). Please have your registration confirmation and I.D. available at the security gate where you will be stopped and checked. Then follow the signs to the Cafeteria. We have a few parking spaces reserved for the symposium. If all reserved parking is occupied, go to parking lot D, which is usually less busy. It is a 5-minute walk from lot D to the Building 50 auditorium. See a parking map HERE.
