Posters / Presentations:
Presentation of research results is a key factor used by ERSP program managers to evaluate annual research progress. As the PI for your project, you should plan to present your research group's latest results (or in the case of new PIs, your plans for future research) as a poster presentation. Each ERSP project poster will have a dedicated 8’ wide X 4' tall poster board at the meeting. The project poster must include the contributions of all co-PIs. Student Travel Fellows (see below) will be expected to present their research results as a separate poster presentation.
A number of representative projects will be invited to make an oral presentation; an ERSD program manager will contact you if your project has been selected. In addition to platform presentations and poster sessions, the meeting will include breakout sessions on special, crosscutting topics. You are encouraged to send ideas for breakout sessions to Todd Anderson at Todd.Anderson@science.doe.gov as soon as possible. We look forward to your ideas!
Abstracts:
One page abstracts will be due no later February 23, 2009. Late abstracts will be conspicuously absent from the abstract book. Your one-page abstract should include: title, ERSP research objectives and results/plans, PI name, Author(s), affiliation and e-mail address. Please submit your abstract via the on-line submission tool available at: (www.lbl.gov/ERSP). PLEASE NOTE: Submission tool will be available on or before 2/2/09. Please do not include any graphics. Your abstract will be published on the web and in the 2009 Abstract book. Upon submission of your abstract, your presentations and posters will be posted on the ERSP web site simultaneously.
Student Travel:
STUDENT TRAVEL FELLOWSHIPS! To increase the participation of graduate students at the ERSP meeting, we are offering a limited number (5-10) of student travel fellowships. To apply, please have your student submit by e-mail:
- A one page abstract of her/his contribution to your project, and
- A short note of support from the PI to Todd Anderson (Todd.Anderson@science.doe.gov) no later than February 16, 2009. Please specify explicitly the role of the student in the research, their school status (MS or PhD, year in school), pubs, awards, etc. The sponsor’s letter of support should be substantive, explaining why this student should be considered.
Student travel fellows will each be asked to present a poster on their ERSP research. One or more may be selected for a platform presentation.
