On Feb. 13, 2009, Congress passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 at the urging of President Obama, who signed it into law four days later. A direct response to the economic crisis, the Recovery Act has three immediate goals:
The Earth Sciences Division (ESD) at Berkeley Lab has received several awards from the Office of Science, the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, and other agencies through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), enacted by the 111th United States Congress in February 2009. The list below shows ARRA funded projects that has been received to date in the Earth Sciences Division and the Program areas the ARRA projects align with.
