Technology Transfer

The Earth Sciences Division (ESD) partners with Berkeley Lab’s Innovation and Partnerships Office (IPO) to move technologies from the Lab to the marketplace to benefit society and the U.S. economy.

Excellence in Technology Transfer Awards

Started in the early 1990s (Award program started in the early 1990s and restarted in 2002), the awards honored those researchers whose hard work and diligence within the year resulted in the licensing of products for the market.
