Communications
Communications in ESD are a collaborative effort between division operations staff and centralized LBNL resources such as the Public Affairs group and LBNL library. The division supports graphic illustrations, poster priting, editing, writing and web development through the Creative Communications Group. Public Affairs and External relations are lead by the LBNL Public Affairs group.
ESD Creative Communications Group
Graphic illustrations, large format (poster) printing, editing and writing, and web development are available within ESD through the Creative Communications Group. The group also maintains the ESD branded poster and presentation templates. Other creative services that are not supplied within the Division can be coordinated through LBNL's Creative Services Office (CSO). The ESD Group plus CSO offers high-quality products and experience in relating to many of the scientific concepts that need to be conveyed. Read more »
LBNL Public Affairs and External Relations
Employees who are contacted by outside media entities should coordinate with the LBNL Public Affairs Department in addition to notifying the Division Office, who will coordinate publicizing to the Division and Lab communities. Read more »
Publishing
The LBNL Library relies on the Divisions to ensure that authors are meeting the publishing requirements as stated in the RPM, Section 5.02, Scientific and Technical Publications. If you are writing a paper to send out for consideration by a journal or publishing organization, please ensure before you do so that you are familiar with the latest instructions and policies, including use of credit lines/acknowledgments by Earth Sciences Programs.
