LBNL Number Requirements
An ESD employee whose paper has been accepted for publication should take the following steps to obtain an LBNL number:
- Fill out an ESD Publication Information Worksheet with full citation information and send to the ESD Reports Coordinator (Dan Hawkes, dshawkes@lbl.gov) and ensure that the Division Review(s) are completed.
- Forward a final “manuscript” version electronically (word or PDF file) and provide a hard copy to the ESD Reports Coordinator. This manuscript version must not include any association with a particular journal; that is, a version without journal formatting, logos, trademarks, headers or footers referring to the journal, or any such “branding.” Typically this would be the same version as the galley proof which may or may not include final corrections.
- The paper must include an author with a clear LBNL affiliation and an acknowledgment (“credit line”) to DOE for the financial support provided, with reference to the present LBNL-DOE contract number, DE-AC02-05CH11231, or to the appropriate funding agency (sponsor).
- Upon receipt of this version of the paper, the ESD Reports Coordinator fills out an LBNL number submission form, attaching an electronic version and forwarding a hard copy of the paper as described in (2) and (3).
